My Story
I am a multi talented mixed media artist from Grants Pass, Oregon. I love art and creating things with bright happy colors.
This is my current hair color, but it changes sometimes. I can't resist it! I enjoy different colors and occasionally need a change when I get bored.
I live in Grants Pass, Oregon, in the countryside on a five-acre property. I have two dogs and two cats. I grew up on a farm with various animals like sheep, chickens, pigs, cows, a goat, and several cats and dogs. I always dreamed of moving back to the country after college and having farm animals like I did growing up.
The view from my studio window is inspiring. I see beautiful green trees and colorful sunsets. Even on rainy days, the smell of pine trees coming through the open windows inspires me. There is so much beauty around me that inspires new ideas.
I have always enjoyed making things. In high school, I wasn't very good at art, or at least I didn't think I was. I loved scrapbooking and doing crafts with paper. I tried to improve drawing skills, but I wasn’t as successful as I wanted to be.
It wasn't until I started dyeing and spinning fiber that I discovered my talent for using color effectively. I have since used that skill to blend fibers, make batts, and create custom blends. Over the years, I have also developed a love for making jewelry, glass etching, and painting.
Art has opened up many creative opportunities for me and allowed me to express my love for color using different materials. I enjoy experimenting and trying new techniques. It has even led me to teach my own classes. I am always learning and excited to share my creations with all of you.
